Benefits Of Social Media Marketing For Business

Social media marketing Benefits

Social media marketing in simple words is marketing a product or a service through social media such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. In the earlier form of marketing, which almost seems primitive in comparison to social media marketing, the organization would collaborate with external agencies like advertising agencies and marketing firms and decide upon the content, frequency and format of communications used to promote their product or service. However, with the advent of social media marketing, we now have platforms that not only used for socialization but also to promote business. Let us look at some of the benefits of social media marketing to understand what makes it tick.

Best word of mouth advertising: Marketing and advertising your products and services go hand-in-hand. With advertising being a hugely expensive affair, social media marketing is one of the best and popular forms of advertising today. Your customers are your best advertisers and on the social media groups, customer’s raves, likes, tweets, etc add up favorably for the business.

High rankings on search engines: If your website or page gathers more traffic consistently in the form of many number of people visiting, providing good reviews, recommending to others, etc then automatically your website earns a high ranking in the search engine results. This in turn offers you the benefit of high visibility in the market and provides good online exposure to prospective customers as well.

Reduces your marketing expenses: Quite obviously, all of us will look for less expensive marketing options but would not want to compromise on the effectiveness of your marketing strategy. Social media marketing is the best solution for you. It not only gives you the regular benefits of marketing but is also easy on the purse strings and eco-friendly as there is no paperwork involved.

Did you know that there is a market of over 1 billion people that hasn’t been touched by our company? That market includes social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. These networks have been cashing in on small business advertising. Our clients would benefit greatly if they could learn how to use these networks as a personal billboard for their business. If we can train our employees and clients about this multi-billion dollar industry, our company could see a 35 percent increase in revenue.
Social networking is the biggest thing on the internet. According to Facebook.com, people spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook alone. In order to get access to these networks, we need to train our employees and clients on these social networks. As we usually train small- and medium-size business, if we implemented this course we could see a huge increase in customers. We already have an expert in this field, Mrs. Susan Serrano. She has the knowledge and teaching abilities needed to teach our employees and clients about this lucrative business.
In order to help our customers and elevate our revenue, we need to make an investment. We would need to expect to pay up to ,000 for Susan to design a full course on social networks. Although this may seem like a lot of money, it’s a small figure when compared to the expected revenue increases that we would see in the immediate future.
Susan would need to develop an eight-hour course on “Communication and Social Media.” The course would include coverage of such things as social networks, the most effective ways of advertising through social networks, and how to help increase your company’s good will through social networks. This will be a very in-depth course, and Susan will need a lot of time to prepare it.
This opportunity won’t last long, and we must take the initiative today before someone else steals this lucrative industry out of our hands. Please call me at (541) 975-3*** and we can start the process of implementing this new course. I look forward to your call.

ANSWER:
QUESTION:
Why do libs think health care is a right? What next, car insurance? How about free food for everyone?
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of ‘Free’ Health Care
Every new ‘right’ the U.S. government has promised has turned into a massively expensive failure, yet the media continue to cheer supporters of tax-funded programs.
Americans are obsessed with rights. We always have been.
But the concept of rights our forefathers laid out in the Declaration of Independence has changed dramatically. Those rights – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – were acknowledged to come from the Almighty, given equally to all people. Today’s rights come from Almighty Government.
Health care is the newest “right.” From presidential candidates’ universal plans to the return of HillaryCare to Michael Moore’s movie “Sicko,” it’s all over the media.
Calling it a “right” is an emotional argument advanced by those who want others to pay for their health care. They bring out the children and ask whether anyone can deny them the “basic human right” of health care – but don’t bother with the evidence showing how health care in this country would be harmed by government control.
A look at other modern “rights” might give us a clue about how well a new system would work. These rights started out as privileges, among them education and a paid retirement.
Now education is not only considered a right, it’s a mandate. How well has it worked? American students attend school at least until their teen years, but 15-year-olds ranked 24th out of 29 countries in aptitude for “real-life math problems,” according to The Washington Post. Literacy surveys suggest one in five American adults is functionally illiterate. And taxpayers keep shelling out money to fund the system.
Americans also cherish the right to retire – but we expect to be supported in our old age. Younger workers and employers are forced to support retirees, funding another right.
And how well has that worked? The poorly designed, outdated Social Security system is disintegrating rapidly as the number of retirees balloons. But once you’ve established a right, it’s difficult to take it away. The government, which promises such rights, must go to its sugar daddy – taxpayers – to keep the rights coming.
We’re already well on our way toward the health care right/mandate. Want to be more like Canada? It’s not that far off. Cato’s Michael Cannon has pointed out that third parties in America pay 86 cents of every dollar of our health care – about the same as Canada’s socialized system.
What we – or rather, those third parties – pay for health care is already determined by the government as well. Emory University medical professor Robert Swerlick has noted that “the pricing of medical care in this country is either directly or indirectly dictated by Medicare.” This market meddling even causes doctor shortages, he says, in needed areas of specialty.
Prescription drugs are already considered a right, thanks to political moves like the Medicare drug benefit and massive media support. A Business & Media Institute study found broadcast journalists treating prescription drugs as though they grew on trees. Overall, the coverage supported the idea that medications should magically be available to everyone at far lower costs.
Of course, the magic behind new “rights” is your money.
Cannon and fellow Cato expert Michael Tanner explained problems with tax-funded care in their book “Healthy Competition: What’s Holding Back Health Care and How to Free It.” If health care is guaranteed to everyone, how much does everyone get? Who decides who receives what, and how would the care be administered? What happens if everyone wants the most expensive treatment available?
“With the wide variety of medical tests and treatments that consumers may claim as their right, someone at some point must decide where the right to health care ends, lest the nation be bankrupted,” they wrote.
We’re well on our way toward that as well. Our “rights” to Social Security and Medicare devour about 40 percent of the federal budget. State and local property tax revenue, which normally funds education, mushroomed about 35 percent between 2000 and 2005, according to the Tax Foundation. We can’t afford any more “rights” like that.
But the left says tax-funded care is right for the children. Meanwhile, what becomes of them? They’re growing up in an America where the “rights” mentality is deeply ingrained, and the media continue to feed them with it.
When the children come of age, perhaps they’ll want the right to a job. They won’t remember that France already tested that idea for us, and it led to high unemployment and rioting. Perhaps they’ll guarantee Disney vacations for all families and force childless Americans to pay for it. “The pursuit of” will conveniently fade away as they look to government to guarantee happiness.
They will know less and less of a true right – liberty – and have no idea where it comes from.
ANSWER:
Man how did you get such a long question on Y!A?
What is funny in this entire discussion is the socialists who want government control of health care will tell you that other countries do it so should we. Which reminds me of my mother, she used to chide me when I used such a phony argument was that if every one else jumped off the bridge would I also.
She was right, just because other countries have tripped down the path of socialism does not justify AMerica doing it.
No one in this country is without health care, anything to the contrary is just a LIE. YOu can get care when you need it, just go to an ER and they will care for you, and the most amazing thing about this one simple great feature of our country, you will receive care regardless of your ability to pay.
SO you see, this whole thing is smoke and mirrors, kind of like class envy. The socialists will tell you you do not get what those who have more money get, which is a LIE. Care is care.
QUESTION:
Why not pay for your own health care?

ANSWER:
Health care isn’t a right; it’s an entitlement. Health care isn’t this service that exists in a vacuum – it requires the hard work, dedication, and excellence of doctors, as well as technological and medical advances that are painstakingly researched by our most brilliant minds, not to mention all the funding that goes into research projects.
Rights are those things that stem from your self-ownership. You own yourself, therefore you have the right to liberty. You own yourself, and you have the right to liberty, so you own the product of your time and labor. How can health care be a right if health care depends on other people being able to provide that service to you? Are people saying that doctors owe them? Since we’re “owed” health care because it is our right, why should we have to pay? I guess that as generous as we all are, we pay taxes and ask the government to compensate doctors, nurses and hospitals what we deem ‘fair.’
The doctor owns his life, his liberty, and his labor. He should be able to set his own terms. You do not have the RIGHT to his services, no more than anyone else has the right to demand that you provide a service for whatever he or she is willing to pay you.

QUESTION:
How can anyone NOT support Tea Party values?
The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.
Core Values
•Fiscal Responsibility
•Constitutionally Limited Government
•Free Markets
Fiscal Responsibility: Fiscal Responsibility by government honors and respects the freedom of the individual to spend the money that is the fruit of their own labor. A constitutionally limited government, designed to protect the blessings of liberty, must be fiscally responsible or it must subject its citizenry to high levels of taxation that unjustly restrict the liberty our Constitution was designed to protect. Such runaway deficit spending as we now see in Washington D.C. compels us to take action as the increasing national debt is a grave threat to our national sovereignty and the personal and economic liberty of future generations.
Constitutionally Limited Government: We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land. We believe that it is possible to know the original intent of the government our founders set forth, and stand in support of that intent. Like the founders, we support states’ rights for those powers not expressly stated in the Constitution. As the government is of the people, by the people and for the people, in all other matters we support the personal liberty of the individual, within the rule of law.
Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government’s interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business.
Our Philosophy
Tea Party Patriots, Inc. as an organization believes in the Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets. Tea Party Patriots, Inc. is a non-partisan grassroots organization of individuals united by our core values derived from the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America, the Bill Of Rights as explained in the Federalist Papers. We recognize and support the strength of grassroots organization powered by activism and civic responsibility at a local level. We hold that the United States is a republic conceived by its architects as a nation whose people were granted “unalienable rights” by our Creator. Chiefly among these are the rights to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” The Tea Party Patriots stand with our founders, as heirs to the republic, to claim our rights and duties which preserve their legacy and our own. We hold, as did the founders, that there exists an inherent benefit to our country when private property and prosperity are secured by natural law and the rights of the individual. As an organization we do not take stances on social issues. We urge members to engage fully on the social issues they consider important and aligned with their beliefs.

You’d have better luck if you asked a question rather than post your homework for others to do for you.
QUESTION:
Is this fair?
keep setting them up ill keep knocking them down.
Republicans usually have knee-jerk reactions to the problems.
Republicans look at situation weigh out the options and take action based on the information at hand.
Democrats usually have considered responses to the problems.
Democrats look at the situation weight for feed back on how any decision will affect their political standing and their constituent’s positions on pushing their private political agenda. The decision is made on how to approach an issue with minimal impact on the public’s opinion of the party. One democrat makes a general weak statement to test public acceptance. If the public agrees the rest of the party joins the band wagon.
Republicans are easily manipulated by propaganda.
Republicans have one media outlet Fox. Although they are continuously barraged by liberal propaganda such as CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, local news, virtually all news papers, and the liberal agenda pushed in schools including the colleges and universities that they attended. The review the information presented and use critical thinking to discern the closest thing to the truth.
Democrats are not.
Democrats do not take time from their self-righteous self absorption, to put much thought to what is really happening around them. They pick up little things they hear around them and jump on the band wagon to make an opinion. Its like playing the telephone game in kindergarten.
Republicans routinely choose conflict over peace.
Republicans are not afraid to defend themselves or their country. They are willing to stand up for their beliefs.
Democrats seek peaceful solutions wherever possible.
Democrats go with the flow when faced with an eminent threat while republicans stand up to defend everyone including the democrats. Then when things become difficult they use the stresses put on the nation during war time to their political advantage.
Republicans run mainly on self-interest.
Republicans emphasize the role of corporate and personal decision making in fostering economic prosperity. They favor free-market policies supporting business, economic liberalism, and limited regulation. Republicans agree there should be a “safety net” to assist the less fortunate; however, they tend to believe the private sector is more effective in helping the poor than government is; as a result, many Republicans support giving government grants to faith-based and other private charitable organizations to supplant welfare spending. Members of the GOP also believe that limits on eligibility and benefits must be in place to ensure the safety net is not abused. Republicans strongly supported the welfare reform of 1996, which limited eligibility for welfare and successfully led to many former welfare recipients finding jobs.
Democrats are more concerned with the larger good.
Democrats pander to the weaknesses of the less fortunate with promises to fulfill their needs with government charity praying on the weak to buy their votes.
Republicans want to maintain the status quo socially.
Republicans try to protect the family and children. support for traditional morality. the concept of human ethics which pertains to matters of good and evil —also referred to as “right or wrong”.
Democrats are more open to social change.
Democrats push the hidden agenda of their constituents. Civil liberties are the name given to freedoms that protect the individual from government. Civil liberties set limits for government so that it would not abuse its power and interfere with the lives of its citizens. The existence of some claimed civil liberties is a matter of dispute, as are the extent of most civil liberties. Controversial examples include reproductive rights, same-sex marriage, and possession of guns.
I think these are valid observations about some of the general differences between Republicans and Democrats.

QUESTION:
why we can not use railway corridors to generate ‘artificial land’ ,and earn additional revenues?
REDEVLOPMENT OF RAILWAY CORRIDORS IN URBAN AREAS FOR GENERATING ARTIFICIAL LAND IN OLD CITIES
INTRODUCTION:
Indian railways have played a significant role in accelerating the process of urbanization. Since independence, cities have grown at an unprecedented rate because of mass migration form rural areas, explosive rate of development of trade and industrialization.
Railways being the major mode of transportation have attracted small and medium scale businesses .service industry and large labor force . Depending on the location and importance of a town, some have become ‘collection and distribution centers. As cities expanded, the railway lines and stations got surrounded by multiple use intense developments exerting adversely on the inter- relationship of various areas and the infrastructure of the city. Today our older cities are characterized by :
1 Disorganised growth of shopping centers, distribution centers, industrial and semi – industrial areas and high density residential area located around railway stations and railway yards.
2. Railway corridor being essentially of lineal natural have becomes major physical barriers between various parts of the city.
3. Deteriorating slum areas, traffic conjunction, obso-late infrastructure and in adequate community facil ities setting in condition of urban blight.
4 Ever increasing demand for additional urban space and higher land values.
5 Enormous amount of underused railway land encouraging unauthorised squatting dumping and social evils.
SCOPE
Although the problems of railway corridors in urban areas is,it needs to be considered as one of the “ National Problems” because of the rapid rate of urbanization and techno – economic change in our country. It has already become alarmingly apparent in large cities like Calcutta, Bombay and Delhi and is fast taking over smaller cities like Kanpur , Ludhiana, Agra or Ahmedabad.
In future with the introduction of mass transit system and the electrification of railways in urban areas, there seems to be a “great potential “ of utilizing the AIR RIGHTS above and at times below the railway tracks for the benefit of both
the city by providing immediate rehabilitation areas and reorganising transportation structure in a three dimensionally integrated manner
-and the Indian railway by providing much needed additional revenues, office spaces , transient passenger accommodation, trading areas and staff housing.

Similar redevelopment projects have been success fully carried out in U.S.A (PENN center and Market Street in philadephia, Grand Central , Madison Square Gardens and West in New York etc.U.K( Birmingham redevelopment and various projects taken by GLCC for London), Canada (Project buena-ventura in Montreal, Shin juku – railway station in Tokyo , and Osaka or Kyoto station in Japan . Shinjuku or Takashimara stations in Tokyo and proposed railway terminal in Skopje,Yugoslavia are successful example of utilizing railway corridors as binders rather than barriers in a city Several of these projects are being developed under the World Bank and AID programs for financing urban redevelopment.
Case Study:
As a specific case study , this project intends to examine the North- South railway corridor between Connaught place and Tis Hazari in Delhi . The area is characterized by :
1. Blighted commercial areas like Amrit kaur market (in – front of New Delhi railway station), Qutab Road stalls, Sadar bazaar wholesale market, Teliwarea, Naya Bazar, Shardhanand Bazar and kamala Market.
2 Traffic conjestion on Qutab Road, Sadar Bazar brige, bridge connecting novelty cinema, Zorawarsingh marg. ( in front of Tis Hazari courts), Naya bazaar, Sharadhanad Marg and Ajmeri gate intersection.
3. Under – used railway property- single storyed and double storeyed staff houses and offices on Chelmsford road . Similar land around connaught place is being used for intensive commercial development –400 FA R
4 Railway corridor between New Delhi Railway station and Sadar Bazar is physical barrier dividing a major the old city
5. There is tremendous demand for additional urban space in this Area, which can be economically provided above the railway tracks on either side of Sadar bazar bridge

4 Small Business Social Media Marketing Tips

Top 4 Marketing Concepts for Small Business

Over the past decade more and more people are getting fired, getting downsized, or getting fed up with their corporate jobs and embark on the journey as a small business owner. Unfortunately, most of the new small business owners fail to consider their marketing plans or strategy. There are many marketing concepts for small business marketing to consider and plan for, but here is our list of Top 10 Marketing Concepts For Small Business Marketing.

Marketing Concept # 1: Consistency

Consistency is the number one marketing concept for small business marketing only because it is left out of marketing concepts for so many businesses. I have worked with a long list of clients, big and small, that are extremely inconsistent in all areas of their marketing. Consistency helps lower the cost of marketing and increase the effectiveness of branding.

Marketing Concept # 2: Planning

Once small business owners decide to be consistent with their marketing, planning is the next major concept to engage. Planning is the most vital part of small business marketing or any level of marketing, for that matter, and so many owners, marketing managers, and even CMOs plan poorly. Put the time into planning your marketing strategy, budget, and other concepts presented here to ensure success.

Marketing Concept # 3: Strategy

Strategy immediately follows planning because your strategy is the foundation for the rest of your marketing activities. In the process of planning, you must develop your strategy: who you will target, how you will target them, and how will you keep them as a customer.

Marketing Concept # 4: Target Market

Target market is also another key concept for small business marketing. Defining exactly who you are targeting allows small business owners to focus on specific customers and reduce marketing waste. Townsville – NBN Brainstorming Session

WHAT IS NBN?

NBN is high speed internet delivered by fibre optic cables and/or wireless methodology. Homes and businesses will have a connection box installed where you can connect computers, telephones and other devices.

“The old dial-up system was like a one-lane dirt track, where when traffic came from both directions, one lane had to pull over. Current ADSL Broadband technology that is used today is like a 4 lane highway, where there is 3 lanes for downloads and one lane for uploads making traffic run smoother and faster but still limited. The NBN that is coming in the next few years can be likened to a multi-lane freeway where there are multiple lanes of upload and multiple lanes download, relieving congestion and increasing speeds dramatically.” Peter Read, NQ Small Business Development Centre

“In future, the internet will be treated as a utility, similar to electricity and water.”

You can test your current speed at http://www.speedtest.net/ .

DO WE REALLY NEED THE NBN?

As more and more technology relies on internet speed, it is important that Australians have access to good quality, high-speed internet to keep pace with the rest of the world. If you think we are doing fine without the faster internet speeds, just look at where Australia ranks against other countries in the world:-

CONNECTION

You will not need to re-cable your home. NBN Co will provide a free connection to the network inside your home. You will only have to pay for additional outlets around the home, if you want them, and to provide access to a mains power socket.

NBN.gov.au published that a basic service of 12Mbps download and 1Mbps upload will cost your service provider $24 per month. However, you will have to purchase your connect from a RSP, like iiNet. http://www.iinet.net.au/nbn/ is advertising internet only NBN plans from $59.95 per month for 50GB+50GB at a maximum of 25Mbps download and 5Mbps upload.

EQUIPMENT

You will receive a free “NBN Box” and a power supply with battery back-up. The NBN Box will have 2 phone ports and 4 data ports.

To network the connection to other computers and devices in your home, you can use “Ethernet-over-powerline’ gadgets or wireless router. If your existing wireless router is “wireless N” or “802.11n”, it may be compatible with the NBN system. These can be purchased for between $80 and $300.

Your regular telephone handset will continue to work on the NBN Box; however, if you have a back-to-base security system you should discuss compatibility with your provider.

Just one major benefit of super-fast internet will be video conferencing. You can purchase a good quality web camera for less than $100 and an external microphone for less than $30.

The only map of Stage 2 I could find is in a PDF – http://www.nbnco.com.au/assets/maps/nbnco-maps-second-release-sites.pdf map on page 5 (subject to change).

It will be cheaper and more convenient in the long run if you opt to connect with the initial roll-out.

There may be external issues that will affect the maximum speed you will receive through your NBN connection depending on things like distance and equipment.

Protecting your Google Profile

Have you checked our Google+ yet?

Click on your name in the top right > Privacy

Google ProfilesGoogle+ 2
Search Results

View your Google Profile – this is what will display in Google Search. If you want to check this, use a different browser not logged in to Google, search on your name and preview what the public will see of your Profile.

The information contained in the Public View Google Profile is taken from areas on your profile. It is made up of Your Name; Your Current Town; Your Current Job Title; the first lines of your “Introduction” and the first three hyperlinks contained in “Links”, and sometimes your “Tag Line”.

Public Profile Information

You can set different levels of access to various parts of your Google Profile. The only things you can’t remove access to is your name, your tag line, your profile picture and your profile gallery photos. NOTE: Google wants users to use their actual photo as their profile picture.

To edit the access levels of each area on your profile, move your cursor over the area, and when it turns blue right mouse click to open the settings.

GP3-300x253

Once you have customised your privacy settings on your profile you can preview them through the eyes other Google+ users in your circles or as anyone on the web. Just type in the username and preview or select “Anyone on the Web”. This is great ‘piece of mind’ that you have set them up just the way you want them.

NOTE: If you “Custom” access down to one of your Circles, be careful if you remove that circle, it may affect your privacy setting.

Network Visibility

This can be edited on your Google Profile page. You can customise who you want to see is in your Circles.

Who Can Share Posts With You

This is not really a privacy setting. The tab on your “HOME” screen called “Incoming” streams posts by people you who have you in circles, but that you don’t have in your circles.

Photos

Settings can be changed to limit who can tag a photo with your name and if you want to show the location of photos. When editing your Google Profile, click on the Photos tab and on the Video tab to select if you want the Photos tab to be visible on your Google Profile.

Controlling who sees your Posts

GP4-224x300

First step to controlling access to your posts is creating your Circles. To control who can access/view your posts you create circles of users. Each circle can be given access to a post either individually or cumulatively, or you can even send posts to individual users. It is very important that you design your circles well if you are concerned about privacy to make sure you don’t accidentially send posts to unsuspecting recipients. My view is that by keeping the number of Circles to a minimum will help with maintaining my lists and help against ‘accidents’ when posting. It will also make it easier to work within Google+ by having a list of circles that is short. You are allowed a maximum of 5000 users in all your circles combined, so don’t go overboard.

Users that you include in circles will be notified that you have included them in a circle, but they will not know the name of or the number of circles you include them in. By default you will have a “Block” circle, so use this if you want to add a person to a circle, but don’t want them to have access to anything you post.

You have two categories of G’s (as I call them):-

people that you have in your circles (similar to Following in Twitter speak) and
people that have you in their circles (Followers in Twitter speak).
These are the topics of my circles:-

  • Family – obvious;
  • Everyone – that’s everyone else that I would like to view/post;
  • Social Media Everyone – this is a group of users that share my passion for social media and that I am more likely to follow their posts;
  • Social Media Special – this is a small group of very special people in my niche that I want to pay close attention to;
  • Townsville – I created this circle just for people in my local area which I can share local events with;
  • TSMM Admin – this is the group of people I work with;
  • Blocked – obviously anyone you don’t want access to your posts and you don’t want to view posts from.
  • Posting Privacy

GP5-300x81

One thing you need to remember is that when you post, even to a selected user, that user can share it on to whomever they please. But, relax; there is a setting that can disable posts being on-shared without your consent. After you share a post to a friend, a circle or to public, you can go and change the setting for that post to “Disable Reshare”.

You can change some setting on other people’s posts that show in your Stream by clicking on the dropdown to the right of the post and select from a list of settings. If you don’t want that person’s posts to show in your stream, “Block” them; if you just want to hide that post “Mute” it.

GP6-300x160

Controlling who can annoy you with Chat

Click on the little dropdown next to “Chat” in your Stream and click on “Circles”. You can change the settings so that only selected circles will be able to see you are online and invite you to chat.

No Privacy in Hangouts

As far as I know, there is no way of “hanging out” privately. Remember, you can invite people to a “Hangout”, but you can’t control who those people can invite in.

Reviewing your overall Google Account Privacy

GP8-300x222

In the “PRIVACY” screen, right down the bottom, is “Sign into Dashboard”. This is your GOOGLE ACCOUNT control centre and lists all the Google Apps that you have accounts with. It also shows the privacy settings for those applications, so it’s a great place to review and ‘tighten’ up your privacy setting within the wider Google community.

REMEMBER: If you are concerned about privacy, that nothing you post on social media platforms is, or will ever be, PRIVATE. So if you don’t want people to access “private” information, DON’T post it on any social media platform.

Well, that’s about all I found for now. I believe that Google will adjust the privacy settings they offer, because of the history of failed privacy settings on other social media platforms, they won’t want to make the same mistake. If you have any comments, suggestions or know of additional ways to control Privacy within Google or Google+, post them to us.

Are You Too Busy For Social Media in Your Business?

Are you too busy for social media, it seems there are a few businesses which are just that.

In a survey last week by Regus, a firm that provides workplace solutions, showed that only 47% of firms surveyed said they use the social media to find new business, even though an increase of 7% from last year, businesses are still saying they are too busy for social media. Yet 78% of CEO’s and executives polled felt social media is critical for success.

The survey asked more than 17,000 senior managers and business owners globally about their use of business social networking.

According to this report…

…businesses in China, US and India are leaders in using social media to attract customers.

Approximately 65% of Chinese firms (up 22% from last year), 43% of US businesses (up 8% since last year) and 61% of Indian companies (up 9% since last year), successfully use social media to acquire customers, the report says.

This report demonstrates that some are not too busy for social media in their business as there is growth of social media since last year and the report also shows the potential for huge, future growth.
This report also confirmed that 50% of the US businesses surveyed used Twitter to engage customers. These businesses also promoted and encouraged employees to join professional social media sites such as LinkedIn.

Another crucial point from the survey was that 39% of the businesses surveyed devoted 20% of their marketing budget to social media.

Getting Started With Social Media

Where to get started with social media?

This can be the most daunting question, even though social media is a very inexpensive media to market the question remains, how much time do you have and where should your time be best spent.

Confused

You have…

  • a Facebook personal profile
  • and a fan page and
  • slowly you are getting couple of likes,
  • you place a couple of tweets and
  • people start to follow you,
  • they say YouTube is great get videos up, then the question ,
  • what types,
  • how often and
  • how long,
  • another colleague states as a professional you should be on LinkedIn.
  • How do I get people to buy through data base collection,
  • what do I need to do to get my brand known,
  • how do I get return customers through social media?

Wow do these questions ever stop????

It seems more and more people are becoming familiar with social media they ust need to know where and how to start.

So guys here is a quick rundown

  1. Set up a personal profile with Facebook, this needs to be done first to get started with your social media.
  2. Set up a Facebook Page
  3. Get an invite to Google +
  4. Set up a Twitter account
  5. Set up a YouTube channel
  6. Set up a LinkedIn profile

Now the aim of social media is to gain credibility by interacting, becoming involved and intimate with your clients so they can influence others to use your product / service.
So to ensure credibility you need to be open about everything, for your Facebook personal profile page and LinkedIn it is important to have a photograph of yourself.
Okay so now you have set up all your channels, now is the time to move forward with your marketing.

  • Step One – Develop a marketing strategy specific to your business and the type of social media you are going to initially focus on. Have them all focus on one.
  • Step Two – Decide how you are going to measure the success of your social media strategy. Remember to take baseline data prior to starting. There are measuring tools in Facebook (will need 30 likes on Facebook to do this).
  • Step Three – Start interacting and become involved with your community.
  • Step Four – Develop an intimacy with your community so they then will confidently influence other to review and use your product / service.
  • Step Five – Become funky by developing videos, webinars, podcasts for your clients or sponsor a contest with free gifts or offer coupons discounts off your products for loyal clients.

So go get started with social media and remember we are here to offer assistance if you have any questions, just post on our Facebook wall and we will respond within 24 hours.

Google+ Trial – What’s All the Hype About?

I created a short Google+ Walkthrough Video Tour and thought I would share my thoughts about Google+ after spending the day ‘playing’. Is Google+ all it’s cracked up to be?
Google+1 Button – The beginning of something big?

I feel that Google has a plan and the social media side of Google+ is only a small but essential part of the big picture. After spending the day on Google+, I have the feeling that the +1 button is primed to play a very important role in the future of search rankings, well Google Search results at least. The combination of social networking’s “word-of-mouth” value and the traditional organic search algorithms would form a legitimate ranking system. Only quality content will receive high votes from real human interaction, poor content will rate badly in the “+1″ voting system, both affecting their rankings in Google Search.

Create Your Circle of Friends

We don’t treat all the people in our life equally. Google+ makes it easy to group friends and acquaints for two purposes. Firstly, when posting you can select exactly which group of friends that post is viewable to or accessible by. The other purpose of the ‘circles’ is to filter your ‘stream’ of content from those that you are following.

Spark Your Interests

Google+ understands that social networking is about creating relationships by engagement and interaction with followers. This interaction is often created with sharing content. Sparks in Google+ is a feature that provides you with content that is of interest to you. You create “keyword” alerts accessible quickly with a click on a link. This will enhance the sharing of content with your ‘Circles’.

Hanging Out with Hangout

Wow, this is my favourite Google+ feature and a huge advancement in the basic video chat. Hangout gives you the ability to network face-to-face (via webcam) with up to 20 other Google+ users. I only had a short play in Hangout and expect that it could get a bit noisy with 20 attendees, but the feature has huge potential for both personal and business networking.

Peripheral Benefit

Convenience. With time being in such limited supply for most people, having a social network hosted within a suite of other resources, will be very handy for a lot of people. Having a single login to access social networking; email; documents; RSS reader; calendar and lots more, might make it just attractive enough for busy people to sign up.

Gmail Backbone

With cloud and mobile computing growing stronger by the day, gmail is becoming a no-brainer. Having access to emails and contact’s information is another benefit of convenience. Having an email inbox that ‘talks’ to a social networking platform, is convenience on steroids. In Google+ you can search; chat; ring and video call contacts you store in Gmail.

Other features similarly available on other social networking platform:-
Photo sharing; photo albums; tagging in photos; mobile upload; chat; photo and video upload; and the list goes on.

Time will tell if Google+ will have what it takes to move 700 million fans, but there is a long way to go.

Watch the short tour I recorded and make up your own mind if it is worth getting on board early, or hang around until “Version 2″ when all the bugs are ironed out.

Can You Change Your YouTube Username, Channel URL or Title?

A Fan asked us if it was possible to change a YouTube Username, URL or Title after the account was created. This question involves two different settings within Facebook. I have broken them down here:-

Change YouTube Username and URL

When you first create your YouTube Channel you select a username that is a maximum of 20 characters using only alph and numeric symbols. This ‘User’ name then becomes part of the channel URL. Eg Username ‘TvilleSocialMedia’ then becomes the URL www.youtube.com/TvilleSocialMedia

Change YouTube Username URL Title

Once a username has been created it CANNOT be changed. The only way around this is to create a new YouTube account. But this can be a problem if you want to use the same email address as the old YouTube account as you can only use one email address to create one YouTube account and you can’t change this if it is a gmail email.

FIX: Download any videos; delete the old YouTube account and create a new account with the correct User name.

WARNING: CLOSING YOUR YOUTUBE ACCOUNT WILL DELETE ALL YOUR VIDEOS, COMMENTS, ETC.

Delete YouTube Username URL Title

  1. Log in to the old YouTube account;
  2. Download any videos you want to keep as this process will delete the videos on this channel. Click on the dropdown arrow next to your user name > Videos > click on the dropdown next to the ‘Insight’ next to the video you want to download > Download MP4 > Save it to your desktop.
  3. Click on the dropdown arrow next to your user name > Settings > Manage Account > Close Account.
  4. This will delete the old account;
  5. Now you will be able to create a new account with the original email address with the correct User Name that will form part of the URL;
  6. Upload the saved videos onto your new channel.

Change YouTube Channel Title

The title of your YouTube Channel is displayed on your YouTube Channel. You CAN change this as many times as you like.

FIX:

  1. Click on the dropdown arrow next to your user name > Channel > Settings > Edit the Title > Save Changes.

Change YouTube Channel Title

I have created a screen recording showing that actual steps details above.
